A Practitioner in Wahsington can dream of a plant in Mexico and a patient in London is healed. What explanations could there be for such phenomenon? An exploration of possible implications for Western Herbal Medicine!
Abstract
Relationship implies connection – we cannot hope to flow with the rest of life without connection. To connect means to become whole. This dissertation aimed to creatively synthesizes some of the re-search-knowledge necessary within the multi-dimensional Energetic Practitioner-Plant-Patient relationship for such holistic endeavors within the scientific re-search and practice of western herbal medicine.
If multi-dimensional, non-local research and medicine is to be re-integrated in the clinical practice of Scientific Western Herbal Medicine, other means of the Practitioner-Plant-Patient relationship (beyond scientific materialism and material plant prescription) need to be re-searched, embraced, re-discovered, and remembered.
Such energetic dynamics need to be consciously perceived, not as materialistic processes composed of multifarious parts (the practitioner, the plant, the patient, space and time) but as one complete integrated dynamic whole infinite of space, time and separation. Hence, multi-dimensional non-locality (beyond time and space, here and there actualities) of the practitioner-plant-patient relationship, is an invitation into a greater wholeness of nature. This dissertation then, necessarily proposes the infinite be-coming and coming-into-being of such creative wholeness for each Practitioner-Plant-Patient relationship in Scientific Western Herbal Medicine Research and Clinical Practice.
The convergence taking place between the emerging scientific paradigm of conventional and ancient (at least 100,000 years holistic knowledge) “Animistic-Living” of Shamanic Cultures, Mystics and Seers, serves to rapidly transform ones perception of what constitutes reality. Knowledge of “holistic-living” (wholeness) researched through more recent labelled methodologies such as Goethe’s Science, Quantum-Animism (quantum-physics), and the growing re-search of Bohm, Dossey, Sheldrake, Laszlo and many others, are moving western science toward realization of the interrelated multi-dimensional holographic wholeness of nature - unseen to seen (being, infinite in space and time). Living knowledge of western herbal practitioners such as Buhner (2004, 2002, 2001) and Shamans such as Cowan (1995) among many others, are also contributing to re-awaken, re-search, transform and metamorphosis ones-nature multi-dimensional wholeness knowledge and clinical practice and holistic living of Practitioner-Plant-Patient Relationships among western peoples.
