Third Research Conference in Contemplative Science
Herbalists Are Doing It For Themselves
The conference took place in Chester in April 2008.
Speakers included:
Christopher Hedley AHG, a well known champion of traditional Herbal Medicine who provided the Introduction to the Research Conference.
Keith Robertson MSc FNIMH, who spoke on The importance of case studies and case series, encouraging the participants to get involved in the development of a Case Studies Database.
Maureen Robertson MSc MNIMH who spoke on the clinical application of the Goethean approach illustrated by a case history.
Alison Morton MSc MNIMH who spoke on her work developing Reflective Practice Journalling in clinical training and practice.
Mary Tassell MSc MNIMH who spoke on her continuing research on Hawthorn species at Cork Institute of Technology.
Students and practitioners alike involved in research projects in herbal medicine or in herbal research found valuable information and important issues generated by this conference.
The aim of the conference was to explore interest in students and herbalists familiar with the SSHM approach with the objective of generating contributions to a new database of case studies.
To this end, the conference was a small ‘home’ gathering of students, graduates, tutors and examiners of SSHM.
